Horacio's Story

Horacio attends Gentog's Adult Day Program Monday through Friday while his children work.

When they were looking for care for their father, Horacio's children were encouraged by a social worker to consider an adult day program.  Because they live in Aloha, Gentog was the closest program to them.  

Because of sight and language limitations, Horacio cannot participate in a lot of the activities at Gentog. He enjoys his daily walks outside with staff.  He enjoys visiting with the staff.  Those that can speak Spanish, practice it with him (which he finds amusing).  

When asked what they like best about the program, his children say that it is a great program for adult care. They feel that it has changed their lives, as well as that of their father.  He is no longer alone during the day, and he is safe and content.
